Upshers Lake

Fingringhoe

The Society bought this lake in 2025, an attractive lake of 3 acres set in a 7 acre plot in a quiet location in Fingringhoe. The lake was named after previous chairman Reg Upsher who gave so much to the club over a period in excess of 50 years.

Important Note: Please drive slowly down Brook Hall Rd respecting our neighbours.

Stocking wise, it’s a little unknown what exactly in there but test sessions have produced plenty of carp ranging from 2lb up to 19lb but larger fish have been spotted. There are plenty of quality Roach and Rudd and one of the fishery officres who test fished the lake had a Tench around 5lb. We have since taking over ownership, stocked 5 x RH fisheries Mirror Carp between 10 and 14lb We also stocked 850 or so Crucian Carp together with 300 Crucians and 300 Tench that were given to us by the EA (that’s where some of our licence money goes). We also stocked a few more Mirrors from another strain. All in all we are confident the lake is well stocked.
