Brookhall Lake

Tiptree

Heavily stocked 4 acre lake with 50 pegs set in picturesque Essex countryside near the village of Tiptree. Tremendous head of Carp to 29lb. Many Carp average between 6lb and 15lb, with Bream to 7lb and Tench to 8lb. Roach and Rudd are plentiful and fish to 1lb are possible along with some large Perch. Match record currently stands at 191lbs with pleasure catches exceeding 100lb regularly. In Oct 2020 300lb of bream were moved from Layer to Brookhall.

Margin fishing is a popular method in the summer. Fishing at around 8m on the bottom becomes effective in the cooler months. Pellets, paste and bread work well, as does sweetcorn and meat baits. Fishing maggots in the summer will bring regular bites from the Roach.
In Jan 2021 75 vs carp were stocked and In April 2021 a new otter fence was erected. Additional fish were stocked in 2022 and 2023.

The water is protected by an otter fence installed by Embryo in April 2021 so please shut the gate.
