Just a note about Bovington 1&2

Bovington 2 is now open to members after a recent oxygen problem. We are continuing to monitor the situation after advise given by the EA.

Due to the weed dying and rotting on the bottom, together with the copious amounts of bait that have gone in , this has had a major effect to the recent oxygen levels. The recent winds have now oxygenated the water to sufficient levels..

However the EA have suggested that for the time being we have a spodding ban on Bov 2 to reduce the amount of bait that goes in.

The club (under fish welfare) has decided to extend this to Bov 1 as well so tat we don’t have problems there.

So in all there is now a spodding ban on both of the Bovington waters with immediate effect.
